Location and transport - logistics in Wels

At the intersection of the European transport network

Wels is located at the intersection of Europe's most important transport routes with efficient roads, well built railways and connections to a modern airport.
With the completion of the 'Westspange' bridge, Wels lies at the centre of a motorway triangle - a unique transport location: right at the heart of the European motorway network!

Aeroplane
Here too Wels can offer a unique feature to Europe: with its 105 ha area, the Welser Flugplatz airfield is one of Europe's largest civil airfields! This offers business passengers great time and cost savings. Just 15 km from the airfield is the Airport Linz-Hörsching with excellent flight connections to all European capitals and overseas connections.

Terminal Wels

The Wels train terminal is unique in Europe in terms of its through-traffic: each day approximately 950 trucks and 1,050 goods wagons pass through the station!

The 'rolling highway' has a large part to play in this. With a comprehensive and forward-thinking

range of services on offer, more than 214,000 trucks each year are dispatched to Hungary, Poland, Belarus, Croatia, etc.
