Motorways
- A 1 (E 60), the Westautobahn, links to
the capital Vienna (Schwechat airport) as well as to Western
Europe - important transport route to the East.
- A 7 (E 55), the Mühlkreis motorway,
runs in direction of Czech Republic.
- A 8 (E 56), the Innkreis motorway,
links to Western Europe, provides fast connection to the large
Munich-Erding airport.
- A 9 (E 57), the Pyhrn motorway, links
to the South, international transit route to Italy, Slovenia,
Croatia, etc.
Train
- Train connection
Paris-Munich-Wels-Linz-Vienna with connections
to Bratislava, Budapest, Belgrad, Bucharest; a 4 track line is
being built between Wels and Vienna.
- Connection
Brussels-Cologne-Frankfurt-Passau-Linz-Vienna
with connections to the East and South.
The anticipated expansion of the Prague-Budweis-Linz line will
enable Wels to become even better integrated in the
trans-European network.
Aeroplane
Here too Wels can offer a unique feature to Europe: with its
105 ha area, the Welser Flugplatz airfield is
one of Europe's largest civil airfields! This offers business
passengers great time and cost savings. Just 15 km from the
airfield is the Airport Linz-Hörsching with
excellent flight connections to all European capitals and
overseas connections.
