Focal point - energy

Wels is entering new territory with its special focus on 'energy'. The aim is to build a competence centre for 'renewable energy'. For many years, the famous European 'Energy Saving Fair' at the Wels Trade Fair has been representing the issues of energy saving and renewable energy. The 'EnergyLand' project, with Europe's largest photovoltaics machine, is to become a showpiece model and competence centre.

Projects on renewable forms of energy are being intensively planed and continuously implemented by the city of Wels and E-Werk Wels. The ASIC research consultation institute is playing a significant role in this. Skilled labour is supplied by the Fachhochschule Wels technical college and in particular graduates of the 'eco-energy technology' course.
Companies concerned with the issue of 'energy' in its broadest sense will find 'Wels - the city with energy' to be a particularly fruitful location and can establish themselves in well-functioning networks!
